If you have the brain of an engineer and the skills of an impactful leader, you're a rare breed who we find to be successful within our Production Management Development Program – the fast track to management on the manufacturing side of our business.

Before taking the big leap to managing factory functions, you'll begin with us as an entry-level Production Management Engineer, taking on the high charge of learning every other factory function including your own, such as Engineering Management, Operations Performance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Accounting and Human Resources. Once you complete a rotation through each of the factory functions, you'll dive deeper into your role in Production Management becoming a subject matter expert in every step of the production line process. You'll lead the people on the factory floor and manage the processes that take our products from concept to completion. You'll work cross-functionally with others throughout the factory, as you'll be responsible for managing various shifts on the factory floor. You can expect to learn the intricacies of our industrial equipment and work on continuous improvement projects – but you won't go at it alone. Primary Responsibilities

  • Discover a variety of the field concepts, practices and procedures that will allow you to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish your goals
  • Practice superior personal safety and be an example to the organization in terms of employee safety and protection of company assets
  • Supervise and coordinate the execution of production schedules
  • Ensure the flow of materials, parts and resources necessary for plant-wide production
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks, including management of employees. Plan methods to improve efficiency in production and be assigned production improvement tasks
  • Maintain compliance with approved methods and quality standards

Basic Qualifications (minimum)

Education
  • B. S. in the Engineering field; Engineering Technology, Food or Animal Science or a Companion Animal program, or expected to attain by June 2017
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
Experience
  • Must be conscientious with high cognitive ability and possess initiative, responsibility, leadership potential and a strong work ethic
  • Must be willing to relocate to a Nestlé Purina location upon completion of the program
  • *PLUSES: Military experience; prior co-op or practicum experience; manufacturing experience; student organization or other leadership experience
