Position Title: Operations Development Manager – Veterinary Channel
What was your starting role at Purina and how did you end up in your current position?
I started out with Purina as a Vet Sales Consultant (VSC). I was in that role for about two years before being promoted to a Field Operations Manager, which has since morphed into the role of Operations Development Manager (ODM). Moving from a VSC to an ODM is the natural progression within the Veterinary Channel at Nestlé Purina.
What are the main responsibilities within your role?
My job is a multifaceted role within the Veterinary Channel. As an Operations Development Manager, I have three primary responsibilities. My main function is to work directly with our distributors on strategic planning, promotions and participating in their meetings to educate and update them on the Purina Veterinary Diets products. I also cover corporate accounts within our division, which requires planning sales goals, training and growing the business. The third major function of my role is the development and training of our reps in the field.
What kind of work did you do before joining Purina?
The two main things that keep me here are the people and my passion for pets. Purina has some of the most amazing people that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. You feel like you are working for a family business within a huge corporation. Everyone at Purina is so passionate about what we do day in and day out. You know you have the best job in the world when you wake up every morning and love what you do! I am very lucky to work for a company that I am always proud to represent. I know that everything that Purina does is best for pets and the people who love them.
