What's your most unusual or impressive skill?
Supernatural powers of persuasion.

False Memory by Dean Koontz. I love cooking and event planning books.
What made you choose to work at Nestlé Purina?
The company has an impeccable reputation in the St. Louis community. Everyone I spoke with about the possibility of joining the company gave me positive feedback about an experience they had with Nestlé Purina.
What motivates you to continue working at Nestlé Purina?
Nestlé Purina understands and practices teamwork. I was given the tools and space to be successful and make my business thrive. Also, the longevity of associate careers is astounding. There are people in my department, ORM, that have worked for this company for over 40 years. That is a rarity, and I’m willing to stick around to find out why.
What has been the most advantageous opportunity provided to you at Nestlé Purina?
Becoming a United Way ambassador has been the most advantageous opportunity, thus far. In this role, I help the company reach a contribution goal that will help thousands of people in the St. Louis community. Community service is paramount at Nestlé Purina.
Describe your greatest experience with Nestlé Purina.
That would be a letter of appreciation written by one of my vet sales consultants sent to myself and my managers. I helped an important shipment of our products deliver on schedule in spite of various obstacles. I remained in constant communication with the vet sales consultant and kept him involved throughout the process. In his letter he commented on how reassuring it was that he was “kept in the loop.”
What do you wish you would have known about Nestlé Purina while you were searching for a job?
The strides that Nestlé Purina is making to create a more diverse work environment. I would have told everyone at the minority MBA career fair to stop at our booth.
What is the most gratifying component about your current role?
There is a sense of accomplishment in a job well done. Whenever I have an opportunity to solve a problem for a “customer” or go the extra mile to ensure that their needs are being met I do it. The thanks that I get from the vet team is gratifying, it’s nice to know that they appreciate what I do.
What exciting projects have you worked on?
Recently, I was chosen as one of four ambassadors representing my department, ORM in our annual United Way campaign. Since accepting this role, I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone in areas such as public speaking, community relations, and fundraising. This opportunity has also allowed me to network with individuals from every department in Nestlé Purina. At each meeting I learn something new.
How has Nestlé Purina supported your work-life balance?
Nestlé Purina provides many programs that address associate needs outside of the workplace. Healthworks, Destination Health, and Lifecare are some well-known and well-used tools to help associates manage their personal lives and health. Nestlé Purina also provides on-site health screenings, which are invaluable to people, like myself, who may not make time otherwise.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not working?
Play with other people’s pets. We have a pet-friendly work environment, so there’s no shortage of furry friends to brighten your day.
